Bullock out of ‘Annie’ remake

Much has been speculated about Sandra Bullock’s possible involvement in the remake of Annie as Mrs. Hannigan. However, the long-lasting negotiations between the actress and the studio –Sony– have ended today, and she will not be playing the part in the upcoming movie.

A pity, really, since the actress is a fine comedian and would have probably done a great job –although perhaps the singing could have needed a little work.

The role of Mrs. Hannigan was played by Dorothy Loudon during the original Broadway production, whilst Glee actress Jane Lynch has taken over the role for the current stage revival.

The film is being produced by actor Will Smith and singer Jay-Z, and it will be directed by Will Gluck (Friends with benefits, Easy A).
